This N gauge layout is currently under refurbishment after a long period in storage.

Scale: 2 mm:ft, N Gauge

Brief description:

This is a model of an electrified main line, set in the 1970s in southern Bavaria, West Germany. It is a small town, with high hills all around and plenty of dramatic and attractive scenery, which encourages tourism. There is therefore quite a good train service at the station, which is also a junction, with a local branch line served by an occasional passenger train. As it is a main line, there is a succession of expresses and through freights, mainly electric-hauled but with some diesels. The layout has been in store for the last 10 years, but has recently been acquired and being overhauled by the club. Electrical controls are DC and construction techniques are traditional.

For exhibition managers - the layout size is: 16ft long by 6ft deep including operating space and barriers. Viewing is from the front.

This layout is expected to make its debut in early 2016.
